I can not believe that January is over. I don’t know about you but I spent the whole of January trying to get ahead in my house. Decluttering was the central theme, and I did have some wins with being consistent, but I think I was proudest of the fact that I get some sewing done every day. My Christmas present to myself once I finished everyone else’s gifts in the run up to Christmas was to make myself some vinyl fronted project bags to store my UFOs.
I worked away and averages one a day once I was home and in the swing of things. My goal was ten. Why so many you may ask?
Well you see this was how I was keeping my larger UFOs over the last year. You can imagine how often I thought of them or got one out. Mmmmm let me see- not once.
So this year I finally did what I have been saying I would do for some time. I used up some fat quarters. Mainly large prints that I loved, but that do not fit well with the style of quilting I like to do and I made quick decisions about contrasting fabrics. They are not perfect but they will spend their life hanging in my closet so I think perfect would be a bit overrated here.
I am really happy with them. Now I just need to start at the one that is closest to finished and get sewing. Quilts and most projects really are much nicer and certainly more useful when they are finished. So here is to halving that list of UFOs this year so I can start some new projects.
Thanks for staying with me.
